Welcome to the World of British Columbia

Travelling in BC

Picture
Travelling through British Columbia can be quite interesting.

British Columbia has a lot to offer.  Many people think that there is only the municipalities and larger towns within the province, but many places with in the province go undiscovered.  There are lots of places to discover such as those hidden waterfalls, or many natural hotsprings that are often unexplored.  Also, there are the glaciated lakes that have been creatively carved from the glaciation period. BC also offers a great opportunity to view wildlife in their natural habitat.

The recreational activities are unlimited.  Some examples of ways that you can enjoy the nature and the serenity of the wilderness are, but not limited to the following:

Fall/Winter

** Snowmobiling
** Skiing (Heli, downhill and cross country)
** Snowshoeing
** Ecological tours (wildlife, call guiding
    guiding companies such as Kynoch

This is an example of one of British Columbia's many wilderness parks that are within our beautiful province.

There are many areas within the park that range from different levels of ability such as hiking, backcountry travel, and other preparations like that.

Some of the popular routes in this park include:

Alexander MacKenzie Grease Trail -- This trail is not for the beginner hiker.  This trail carries on for a significant distance and hikers along this route should be very capable of backcountry travel, and experienced in many different things that might arise, such as encounters with wildlife, changes of weather, and so on...

Hunlen/Turner Lake Route -- This ever popular route is again for the more experienced hiker. For those who are interested in travelling through this area, should refer to the South Tweedsmuir Park page for further information.

Rainbow Range -- This is a popular hike for many avid hikers.  This is an 8km hike from the trailhead, and is a very beautiful hike to see the rusty colored mountains known as the Rainbow Range.
